The main situations reported to us by customers are telecoms failures, power failures, building loss and being unable to access their customer site.
Disasters can strike at any point without warning, which is why our Workplace Recovery service (WPR) can be invoked at any time, and on a 24/7/365 basis. Our SLA for invocation is just four hours, ensuring that disruption to business operations is minimised as far as possible.
This is where our testing service comes in. Our specialists will support the annual testing regime and, through observation, advise of any remediation recommendations to ensure that invocation plans and the WPR configuration remains fit for purpose.
It’s essential to test your ability to transform from normal operation to a business continuity operation if you are faced with a disaster or denial of service. Doing so helps verify your ability to transition as quickly and seamlessly as possible and identify any improvements required. You may want a full customer test or one that involves a subset of your users — it's up to you. Either way, our specialists will support you and ensure that your WPR plan is fit for your needs. As a customer, you will be allocated one test day per annum on a day of your choice — we require six weeks’ notice of the test day. This is designed to put our service through its paces by testing how quickly and seamlessly normal operations are resumed following your invocation. The test will take place in normal business hours although, for an additional fee, you can choose another time to suit you. All the services which form part of your WPR service agreement and would be available at the time of a disaster will be available at the time of your test.
Pulsant’s recovery specialists work with you to design the service, assist in development of invocation procedures, and agree the protocols you need to meet the needs of your identified workplace recovery scenarios.
