The benefits of Pulsant colocation

With our colocation service, you simply move your equipment into our datacentre and we will look after the costly supporting infrastructure: building fabric, power, cooling, connectivity, and physical security. As your IT needs grow, your datacentre footprint can scale accordingly.

  • We’ll take care of your systems and data so you can take care of your business

We appreciate that maintaining high levels of uptime is essential: in business-critical or customer-facing IT systems any downtime will result in loss of business and reputation. That’s why we have multiple levels of equipment redundancy to maintain a functioning datacentre environment even in the face of major disruptions to IT operations such as power outages.

Every Pulsant datacentre is designed from the ground up to be secure and reliable.

    • Multiple UPS banks
    • Diverse N+1 power supply
    • Equipment redundancy
    • On-site diesel generators
    • Multiple redundant cooling systems
    • Multiple diverse network connections
  • A local facility for maximum convenience

We recognise that you want your own engineers to have access to your servers, so we have datacentres across the UK, allowing you to choose a location that is convenient for you. Your equipment will always be available to your engineers, subject to the access protocols of our datacentre security.

Our expert datacentre engineers are available and can perform many routine or emergency tasks for you. We call this “remote hands”, where our engineers act on your behalf.

    • Ten facilities located across the UK
    • Ideally located to major road & rail links
    • 24-hour access
    • Full range of supplementary services
  • Looking after your systems and data is our prime concern

Our datacentres offer a high level of physical security for your systems. With multiple levels of access control, internal and external CCTV, on-site staff, perimeter fencing, escorted visitors, you can be sure that your servers are well protected. Pulsant’s ISO 27001 accreditation for IT security covers all of our datacentre facilities.

Where you have heightened security needs, we can provide secure cages to isolate your racks or even dedicated private rooms with their own secure access controls.

    • Secure access controls
    • Internal and external CCTV
    • ISO 27001 accreditation for IT security
    • Cages and private suites

We have vast knowledge of and experience in the data centre and hosting market. We have the right staff, accreditations and understanding of compliance and regulation to guide you through the change and help you minimise the impact on your business.

My business can’t afford downtime as a result of poor connectivity; how do you ensure resilience?

We are carrier neutral, with relationships with more than 30 carriers and ISPs. This means there are diverse connections out of our data centres, so there is no compromise on performance, speed or availability.

I need a data centre close to my business. Where is Pulsant located?

We have a network of 10 data centres located across the UK, ranging from London to Sheffield, and Newcastle to Edinburgh. Take a look at our data centre map to find a site near you.

How flexible / scalable are your data centres?

We work with you and your team to determine the space you require within a data hall, rack or suite. Based on our experience, we are also able to help you plan for your growth requirements, and can help you scale up quickly, easily and cost-effectively, when the need arises.

How do I know where my data is?

If you’re concerned about data sovereignty, you can host your data in one of our 10 UK data centres. Our colocation service means you choose the data centre that will host your equipment so that you can access it as needed and meet any regulatory requirements when it comes to location.

Will my servers be safe outside of my premises?

Your servers will be safe in one of our data centres. We take the safety of our customers’ infrastructure seriously. We have the highest levels of physical security in our enterprise data centres, with access control, and 24/7 manned and monitored security.
